Born in England, Phil was moved at a very young age to tropical climes of Malaysia, where his father is from, and raised in Kota Kinabalu. He even went to boarding school in Brunei before moving back to the UK, where his mother is from, when he was 16.
He's a bit smart, this one, and made it into Kings College, Cambridge where he studied engineering.
But enough of that, lets get to the good stuff. The funny stuff.
Where have you found Phil Wang?
When he was 18, he decided to give comedy a go. It wasn't for any noble reasons, it was more to prove to the popular kids in school that he was pretty clever and could make people laugh.
It must have worked, because he was accepted into, and became the president of the coveted theatrical club Footlights. Previous alumni include Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Eric Idle, and Richard Ayoade.
While he doesn't want you to think it's exclusive and secretive, it kind of is. They say it's all democratic and based on talent, but he's probably lying. How would we know?
Now, you can find him at the Edinburgh Fringe, Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Unspun with Matt Forde, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and of course, the prestigious Taskmaster.
