Aisling Bea

Aisling Bea

Aisling's real name is Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan - but that's a bit hard to pronounce, and besides, someone else had the same name in the industry.

Instead she goes by Aisling Bea, in honour of her father Brian, who died when she was young.

Born and raised in County Kildare, Ireland, Aisling attended London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and has a degree in French and Philosophy from Trinity College in Dublin.

Aisling Bea's winner predictions

Fast forward to 2012, Bea beat eight other comedians to win the Gilded Balloon So You Think You're Funny award at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, making her the second woman to have won it in the award's 25-year history.

In 2013, Bea was nominated for Best Newcomer in the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Awards, latterly the Perrier awards, for her show C'est La Bea.

And now, you can find her in Taskmaster as she competes against Sally Phillips, Mark Watson, Nish Kumar and Bob Mortimer.
