Character Profiles
Get to know the best, sharp-suited lawyers New York City has to offer.

-
Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht)
He sounds like some kind of Marvel supervillain, but Harvey Specter is actually a suave, cocky senior guy at the law firm that picks Mike Ross up. In fact, it's Harvey who discovers Mike and decides to take a chance on the young prodigy, which means he has to cover up the fact that Mike isn't actually a Harvard Law graduate. Despite being a thrusting career-obsessive with more than a passing similarity to Patrick Bateman (minus the axe), Harvey has a good heart, which Mike's helped him tap into. Saying that, Harvey has to be tough to stay on top in the cutthroat second season.
-
Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams)
You'd think being a college dropout would prove a wee bit of a barrier to becoming a top lawyer. But Mike Ross also happens to be a law-obsessed genius with a photographic memory, who – despite beginning his interview with the words "I'm just trying to ditch the cops" – manages to bag himself a place at top law firm Pearson Hardman. Note: this interview technique is best avoided if you happen not to be a genius, or in a television show. Mike shouldn't get too complacent though, as the fact that he's not actually a qualified lawyer may well derail his career.
-
Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman)
Every office has a bitter bundle of neuroses, twitchy and short-tempered, and just one bounced-back-email away from committing some kind of massacre. In this office, that person is Louis Litt. And he REALLY doesn't take well to Mike Ross leaping ahead of him in the pecking order and being the golden boy. Louis immediately becomes Mike's fierce rival in the law world, which is kind of tricky as they sometimes have to work together on cases. But will Louis eventually be won over by Mike's earnest charm?
-
Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres)
Even a world-class alpha male like Harvey Specter has a boss. And that boss is Jessica Pearson. If anything, she's even tougher than he is, but then she has to be: she's the face of the company, and her name's on the building (metaphorically if not literally). Of course, she's also a reasonable sort of person – she just doesn't like it much when Harvey utterly betrays his morals for the sake of winning cases. But she may have to put her scruples on hold when company co-founder Daniel Hardman returns in season two, ready to wrench it from her grip.
-
Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle)
Every good lawyer needs a paralegal – even if we non-lawyers aren't exactly sure what one is. Rachel Zane is a paralegal par excellence, and has been an invaluable guide for the horribly naive and inexperienced Mike Ross. She's part mentor, part researcher, part person who rolls her eyes a lot. Of course, the fact she's ravishingly beautiful put an added slant on their dynamic, and there's a tantalising romantic vibe flowing between them. Will they finally get things together in season two, or pull a Mulder and Scully and keep a lid on all those simmering emotions?
-
Donna Paulson (Sarah Rafferty)
Don't let her title fool you. Donna (Sarah Rafferty) may be Harvey’s executive assistant, but she’s one of the most formidable minds at Pearson Hardman. With her razor sharp wit and knowledge of all the comings and goings at the firm, Donna is admired and feared by both associates and partners alike, and she’s not afraid to wield that power when it suits her needs.
Having been with Harvey since his days in the D.A.’s office, Donna keeps the fine machinery of his life well oiled and is privy to all his secrets – including the truth about Mike. She also acts as his conscience when he needs it most, and he’ll need her now more than ever, as Mike’s new job will soon lead to conflict with his old mentor. But while Donna can see that Harvey and Mike are headed for a collision, she may not be able to stop the impact…
