Both experienced racers and amateurs have been working round the clock to come up with the most outrageous hand-made machines – fuelled by nothing more than sheer courage, the force of gravity and a sprinkling of madness.
There have been more than 40 soapbox races around the world since the first one in Brussels back in 2000 – from Australia, South Africa and Helsinki to St. Louis, Jamaica and Italy.
Over the years, vehicles have ranged from a piano to a giant baby carriage, a rodeo clown to a massive corn on the cob, a jail cell to the Golden Gate Bridge. Can this year's top those? What do you think?
