Dave UKTV's flagship comedy channel, aimed at 16-34 year old males, has been using podcasts as a way of engaging it's audience around the channel proposition "Witty Banter" since 2010 and racked up numerous awards in the process.
After the huge success of The Dave Weekly podcast, Dave decided to launch it's first topical podcast hosted by the brilliant Alex Horne, a leading light in British comedy with a mission to pick apart the week's news.
Alex Horne Breaks the News launched earlier this year to rave reviews:
The Telegraph: "Presented by the excellent British comic Alex Horne, with assistance from a trio of quick–witted guests, it promises much laughter and lampooning in the weeks to come."
Podcast Purview: "Utterly grand while at the same time perfectly ludicrous, Alex Horne Breaks The News is a very very very welcome edition to the podcast catalogues"
The Guardian: "The remit – chat centred on the week's big news stories – brings to mind the Bugle, but Horne is inventive enough a performer to make the format his own."
And stunning performance peaking at No2 on the iTunes chart, it wasn't just the journalists that enjoyed it. Over 1m people downloaded the first series (12 episodes) and the second series is already off to a flier.
