How to make Zuu’s Dorito Fried Chicken from Episode 1 of Big Eats!

Dorito Fried Chicken

Makes 6 pieces

Ingredients:

450ml buttermilk 1 tsp salt 3 chicken drumsticks 3 chicken thighs 100g plain flour 180g Doritos Vegetable oil for deep frying

Hot sauce to serve

Method:

Whisk the buttermilk and salt together in a large bowl, add the chicken and toss to coat. Cover the bowl and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat the oil for deep frying to 160ºC. Put the flour and 100g of the Doritos into a food processor, blend to a fine powder, then tip into a deep baking tray. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, coat in the flour. Dip the coated chicken back in the buttermilk, then give them a second coat of the flour.

Fry the chicken for 10-12 minutes until cooked through, then drain. Whilst the chicken is frying, blitz then remaining Doritos to a fine powder.

Put the cooked chicken into a large bowl, season with the powdered Doritos and toss to coat. Serve with hot sauce.

  • Season the fried chicken and serve
