Crackanory returns with Series 2

The critically acclaimed Dave original, Crackanory, returns for a new run of dark stories and A-list comedy and writing talent, starting Wednesday 24th September at 10pm.

Rik Mayall in Crackanory

The first series of Crackanory saw some of Britain’s best loved comedy stars settle into the comfy leather chair and read twisted tales accompanied by live action scenes and animation. The masterclass in storytelling and performance continues with a whole host of award-winning narrators in the second series and also features the final TV appearance of the much-missed Rik Mayall. The iconic comedian, who died in June, reads The Weatherman by Game of Thrones actor Tony Way in the first episode alongside a story read by Vic Reeves called In Space No One Can Hear You Clean.

Other luminaries in the Crackanory hotseat include David Mitchell, Simon Callow, Emilia Fox, Meera Syall, Warwick Davies, Ben Miller, Sue Perkins, Johnny Vegas, Ruby Wax and Katherine Parkinson, all providing their vocal talents to dark and intriguing stories written by the likes of Toby Davies, Ali Crockett and David Scott, Nico Tatarowicz and comedian Holly Walsh.

Series two will also feature stories written by Melissa Bubnic and Katherine Jakeaways and former Crackanory narrator Kevin Eldon will write his second story and also make an appearance in Man’s Best Friend written by Alex Kirk. So, are you sitting comfortably? Then we shall begin…
