World renowned street trials rider Danny MacAskill is no stranger to pain. In between a hair-raising career of performing improbable, ultra-creative and jaw-dropping stunts on his bike, he’s also managed to break his legs, his wrist and his collar bone. It’s all part of the job in that kind of action-packed world.
He rose to online fame in 2009 when the Scottish super biker’s friend uploaded a video of him performing tricks including jumping onto spiked fences and over rooftops. Easy peasy eh. Now Danny has undertaken his biggest and most ambitious project yet – to create a set of giant toys inspired by his childhood and ride across them. Obviously. The result is a seven-minute film that took 68 weeks to shoot, with some tricks 300 takes to get right.
This exclusive documentary looks at how Danny and the team developed the idea, overcame logistical problems and injuries, the practice and, of course, the incredible, film itself. Puncture kit anyone?
